North Star Pediatric Dentistry is a start-up dental clinic founded by board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Elias Abdi. Elias was moving back to Minnesota and looking for a design-build team to help quarterback his new practice during the transition.
Thielen & Green provided full-scope architectural and interior design services from initial fit planning through construction administration. Programming includes a new vestibule with a small waiting area, two-station check-in desk, reappoint desk, and five treatment chairs with full clinical support spaces. The interior design focuses on simple views, way-finding through the use of brand colors and natural light. Vibrant textures and warm tones offer an inviting aesthetic that helps reinforce brand values and elevate first impressions. This project was delivered under an integrated approach with Karkela Construction as the general contractor. MEP + fire protection engineering was design-build. Site selection was provided by CARR Commercial Realty.
This project utilized full BIM modeling for early design review, project coordination and clash detection, with a goal to limit field changes and expedite construction timelines.
