ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The architectural designer is the foundation of the design process, acting as the technical backbone of the design process. Under the direct supervision of the architect, the architectural designer coordinates with the design team to plan, design and layout the project design. The position receives direction from leadership, project management and often project leads, gathering design requirements and specifications to help the team ensure the aesthetic and functional aspects of the project are both visually appealing and structurally sound.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work full-time, 40 hours per week
- Perform site assessment and field survey
- Ability to travel to local job sites as needed
- Assist the project lead in managing project deliverable and deadlines
- Help facilitate consultant coordination
- Assist the project lead and project manager with comprehensive code analysis
- Prepare scaled drawings and construction documents
- Participate in construction administration services including site meetings, RFIs, shop drawing review, and finish selections
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional Degree, Bachelor’s in Architecture (Preferred)
- 1-3 years’ experience
- Strong written, organization, and verbal skills
- Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task
- Proficient in Revit, Enscape and Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of Minnesota Building Code (Preferred, but not required)
- Knowledge of Revit families, BIM template a plus
- Some experience working in the field on a construction site
